Inspector

FUNCTIONAL ROLE

2.1 This position reports to the CSO (CHIEF SALES OFFICER) and uses the critical path methodology to hold himself and his team accountable for results to enhance the company’s profits. This position works directly with the Senior Inspector, CSO and BOM (Business Office Manager) and responsible for all aspects of the company’s INSPECTOR daily documentation requirements in the field.

2.2 The primary function of the INSPECTOR is to drive commercial and residential sales with a highly qualified sales presentation. The INSPECTOR plays a critical role in Oberg ROOFING & REMODELING. The INSPECTOR develops trusting prospective and existing client relationships.

The INSPECTOR is responsible for submitting the required Inspector documentation to the office daily from the field , fostering and maintaining the outstanding reputation of Oberg ROOFING & REMODELING throughout the industry and local market. This is based on the company core values of client satisfaction, commitment, excellence, sales team accountability, integrity, and QUALITY.

2.3 The INSPECTOR role requires critical expertise learned from the company training program. The INSPECTOR establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers, vendors, subcontractors and all other internal and external stakeholders in the company.

2.4 This position requires an excellent knowledge base of all construction cost aspects to ensure estimating the cost of goods sold for each project is reasonable to securing a minimum 50% gross margin for all projects. This individual must be able to identify new market opportunities, develop plans, proposals, estimates and drawings based on the customer’s wants (if you can dream it, we can build it). These strategies coupled with completion timelines (Proposals, plans; and the ability to initiate a project from design and estimate to proposal and completion) will deliver results with an acceptable (minimal 50% gross profit) profit. This is the life blood of the company. This role will grow market position by identifying, defining, developing, cultivating, negotiating and, most importantly, closing business relationships.

3.0 Required Education and Experience:

3.1 Education: high school diploma with some college. Associates/bachelor’s degree in business management, sales, Marketing or advertising preferred

3.2 At least 2 years of in-home roofing sales experience.

3.3 At least two years of working in a fast-paced customer focused construction industry.

3.4 Working knowledge of Excel, Word, social media platforms Preferred

3.5 Has in-depth expertise in own discipline and knowledge of the related disciplines

3.6 Anticipates and interprets customer needs to identify solutions

3.7 Interprets business issues and adapts work priorities in own area

3.8 Manages budget for own area and allocates resources accordingly

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

4.1The INSPECTOR REPORTS to the CSO and works hand in hand with the Sr. Inspector and BOM on a routine basis.

Classification: This job description applies to Inspectors that are either classified as employed (w2) or subcontracted (1099). Please see the Salary Grade Classification section

Salary Grade Classification:

Inspectors classified as subcontractor (1099)-This job is 100% commission; weekly draws are available and training will be required as needed.

Inspectors Classified as employees (w-2)-This job is 80% salary and 20% bonus based on budgeted goals. After successful completion of the inspector paid training program the following Benefits will be offered: Company vehicle, gas card, laptop computer, ladder, office supplies and clerical support. Employed Inspectors will be eligible for the following benefits after successful completion of the 60 day probation period. Canvas, quote, & sell roofs & roof related products to homeowners
Complete Oberg Roofing sales presentation at appointments
Follow-up with prospects after the appointment

This job operates in the field 85% and a professional office environment 15% of the time. This role routinely uses ladders and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain accurate, up to date records of all credit purchases made by
customers including complete name, mailing address, telephone number,

full name of person to contact, and amount and date of each invoice

charged to the account.

Obtain and investigate credit information on new customers.

Enforce credit policy regarding credit holds and over-limit situations.

Perform collection and dunning procedures as directed by the Manager of Finance and Administration.
Investigate customer pricing problems.

Process all payment receipts including updating computer records and
supervise the preparation of bank deposits.

Prepare appropriate credit memos where approved.

Perform all necessary filing.

Prepare and send monthly statements out as appropriate to customers
with outstanding credit balances as of the end of the month.

Follow all procedures outlined in the Credit and Collection Management
Procedure.

Answer incoming telephone calls in emergencies and redirect those calls
in accordance with the caller’s request.

Attend the Employee Meetings to discuss problems and concerns, and to
keep communication lines open.

Perform any other tasks, jobs, or functions assigned by the Manager of Finance and Administration.

The Accounts Receivable Assistantmaintains all of the records pertaining to amounts

and due dates of customer credit accounts. Accuracy and thoroughness in this job is

extremely important, not only to give customers confidence that our billings are correct

and that we are not overcharging them for our products and/or services, but also to

ensure that the company is appropriately collecting amounts due us for the products and

services we sell or rent.

The Accounts Receivable Assistant does not have supervisory authority, but he or she
