One good way to reduce maintenance disruption to your tenants is to keep the workers’ presence in the building as minimum as possible. If a hydraulic lift is available, they can use it to bring up the materials to the top faster.
You can also schedule your hired roof replacement contractor to do the maintenance work outside of normal business hours. This can be different for each type of business or facility so it’s important to consider which time is convenient for you. For instance, if the roof you’re renovating is that of a school building, it’s ideal to schedule maintenance work on weekends, holidays, or during summer break. But if it’s a restaurant or bar, you may want them to do the maintenance before lunch to avoid the rush of people coming over.
Consider All Safety Precautions
The tenants in your building may not be too familiar with some of the safety protocols implemented during maintenance work. If you’re having a roofing tear-off, for instance, you can expect there may be falling debris. To avoid accidents, you or your property manager should inform them properly by reminding them of the safety protocols they need to be aware of. You need to warn them about safety issues as well, even if they’re already normal for you to follow.
